Dr Amy Rask

Dr. Amy Rask received her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Alabama, U.S.A.) in 2008. Her research interests during her doctoral studies included cognitive psychology and advertising, media effects, video game research, and gender portrayal in media. She completed her dissertation, titled "Message System Complexity as a Factor in Information Processing: Implications for Media Multitasking", in collaboration with ITRI and conducted her research onsite at Murdoch University.
She has presented research papers at annual conferences of the International Communication Association, Association for Education and Journalism in Mass Communication and the National Communication Association. She received her Master's Degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Alabama in 2005, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from the University of Montevallo (Montevallo, Alabama, U.S.A.) in 2003.
Amy joined ITRI in June 2008 as a post-doctoral research fellow. She is currently working on the Beyond :30 project. She will be headed to Austin, Texas in November to aid research in ITRI's collaboration with Disney on a new research facility.
