Jennifer RobinsonDr Jennifer Robinson

Senior Research Fellow Jenny Robinson joined the Interactive Television Research Institute in January 2008. Her research covers media effects, new media in public relations, and risk/health communication, especially the role of TV and psychology processes in these areas. 
 
In addition to an Honours degree in Psychology and Graduate Diploma in Science Communication from the Australian National University, Jenny has a master’s degree in Telecommunication & Film and a doctorate in Mass Communications from the University of Alabama. Professionally, she spent 10 years working with ‘Integrated Science’, an educational television initiative in the US, as well as having several years experience with political lobby and charity organizations. 
 
Prior to joining ITRI, Jenny was an Assistant Professor in Public Relations at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Mass Communication where she supervised undergraduate, masters and doctoral research and was nominated for the College’s Teacher of the Year Award (2006). Jenny also mentored students in professional development, with UF’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter winning “Outstanding Chapter” while she was faculty advisor.
 
Jenny is published in the Journal of Public Relations Research. She has presented over 15 papers at international and national conferences, including the Society for Risk Analysis and International Communication Association. Jenny serves on the advisory board of the Global Media Journal (Australian edition) and is a member of PRSA, the International Communication Association (ICA) and the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA).
